About the Blogger

“            The anchor of the ship sinks into the dark sea where the sunlight can’t reach to make sure the ship floats and doesn’t get carried away by the life's waves. This is one soul designed to descend into darkness for thousands to survive.
This is the life of the poet who reaches out beyond what normal people can perceive, to the land of a thousand words. The poet lets his soul reflect his audience's strife as he walks through life experiencing it, not like a regular person, but like a person who has set foot into the lives of everyone, thus, living their sorrow, being swayed by at and enduring their loss as well as savouring their happiness.

Uriel - אוּרִיאֵל - is an eclectic person who is still fighting against herself, her circumstances, regrets, and fears trying to cut her way through this jungle of civilisation. She resides in the Middle East, the third child out of four of a non-traditional Middle Eastern family. Just like most people, Uriel is a product of several dreams, hopes, aspirations, and a complex interaction of nature and nurture.

Uriel has been writing since she was 12; writing started as a method to express her frustration with her family, and later on became something she would have wished as a career for herself. As writing never brings food to the table (a Middle Eastern point of view) Uriel decided to let go of her passion and uptake a degree in business administration with a concentration in Finance.

No matter how far life's currents pushed her away from writing (both poetry and prose), Uriel writes in various styles and genres ranging from academic texts, poetry, prose, free verse, and reflections. When feeling creative, she engages in writing short stories and novellas.

Uriel - אוּרִיאֵל - has found sanctuary in writing under a pen name. Her thoughts are her own; sometimes they are a cry for help, other times they are a reflection of her broken self which she is trying to mend into a stronger version, and other times they are the product of her creative abilities.

Welcome to my sanctuary; feel free to share your dreams and fears, successes and failures, love and hate stories, all under the anonymity of a pen name.

Regards,

אוּרִיאֵל
